"The 14th Nunnopi Education Award" is to be held at 5 p.m. at Hanmaeum Hall, Boramae Center, in Shindaebang-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul on Dec. 2. The Award was created to promote respect for teachers and uphold the noble spirit of teaching.
The Daekyo Culture Foundation, organizer of the awarding ceremony, named Kim Jeong-hee, 68, Chief Sister of Nicola Day Care Center in childcare category, Kim Seung-woo, 69, Superintendent of Geonyoung Kindergarten in Seoul, and in the category of society in general Choi Young-cheol, 50, teacher at Daejeon School for the Blind.
In the category of elementary school, Ko Seon-gil, 61, Principal of Seocheon Elementary School in Jeonju, Kim Young-han, 53, teacher of Suwol Elementary School in South Gyeongsang Province, and Lee Dong-ryul, 54, teacher of Daeya Nam Elementary School in South Gyeongsang Province. Secondary school category award went to Chung Young-ta, 62, Principal of Younghoon High School in Seoul, Kim Dong-sang, 55, teacher of Anddong High School in North Gyeongsang Province, and Kim Hyo-sang, 45, teacher of Daegwang Technical High School in Busan.
In the newly created overseas category, Oh Su-ji, 60, Principal of Third Street School in LA, the U.S. had the honor. Each award recipient will receive a plaque and 10 million won in prize money.
