Information on the announcement of the winners of the 2007 Verse Award We would like to thank all the children across the nation who have demonstrated interest and participated in the Verse Award. Around 12,000 applications were received by the July 27 deadline. The number of works reached a whopping 20 thousand or more. The panelists, who are children’s verse writers, went through a strict screening process for the preliminary and main contests.
The winning works were determined on September 17. An announcement on the winners will be made at 2pm
on September 18 on the Daekyo Culture Foundation website, Daekyo Book website, and the Naver book community,
“Another Nunnopi World created by books.” An advertisement will be placed on the September 21 issuance of the Chosun Daily for Boys. Among the final works that were decided upon, 100 works, ranging from those that received the first prize to the “sprout” award,
will be disclosed on the Daekyo Book website for a week. General readers and parents will be asked to see if any of the works
are copies of original works. A book by Daekyo Book will be given as a present to those people who report any works that are
an imitation of original works. All imitations shall be excluded from winning works. The award ceremony will take place at the Hanmaeum Hall on the third floor of the Daekyo Nunnopi Boramae Center at 5pm on October 19.
For the individual category, the first place, gold, and silver winners as well as school principals of the group winners will attend the ceremony.
All individuals required to participate in the ceremony will be contacted. The awards and supplementary awards for the winners
of the “sprout” award and “dream tree” award shall be sent by mail to the schools of the winners after the award ceremony on October 19.
Please take note of this fact. Please contact us if you do not receive the awards and supplementary awards one week after the award ceremony.
