Awardees for '2007 Nunnopi Children’s Verse Contest' Announced 'The tree like mom / Like the big trunk / Mind is Spacious / Hugging all the birds that visit / Handing out fruits to the birds // How difficult will she be? / Standing alone at the breast of the hill / Stopping the gusts / Stopping avalanches // The heart that resembles the sky / Just like my mom / Observing the mind of the tree / Lets me know the mind of mom ('Observing a Tree'). '2007 Nunnopi Children’s Verse Contest' aimed at expanding the creativity of children and encourage their creative activities was held by the Daekyo Culture Foundation organized by Daekyo Publication, and sixth grader Park Ji-eun from Yeonam Elementary School in Ulsan won the Grand Prize with her work of 'Observing a Tree' Other awardees include: Gold Prize for low-grade elementary school category: Kim Seon-ah (3rd grade, Gwangdeok Elementary School in Gyeonggi Province) and Kim Woo-jae (2nd grade, Apgujeong Elementary School in Seoul); Gold Prize for high-grade elementary school category: Park Shin-yang (4th grade, Onyangoncheon Elementary School in South Chungcheong Province) and Mo Eun-young (5th grade, Hoseong Elementary School in Gyeonggi Province). In addition, 19 Silver Prize winners, 73 Sprout Prize winners, 500 Dream Tree winners were announced. In a group category, Hoseong Elementary School in Gyeonggi Province won the Grand Prize followed by Excellence Prize given to Onyangoncheon Elementary School in South Chungcheong Province, Dotong Elementary School in Namwon, Woochon Elementary School in Seoul, and Gwangduk Elementary School in Ansan, Gyonggi Province. With the number of applicants increasing every year to this year’s 10,460, the interest and love of children in 'Nunnopi Children’s Verse Contest' are growing deeper. Awarding ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. on Oct. 19. at Nunnopi Boramae Center (3rd floor, Daekyo’s company building) in Bongcheon-dong, Gwannak-gu, Seoul.
