Kim Gi-chang and Eight Others Receive This Year’s Nunnopi Award

| The Daekyo Culture Foundation (Chief Director: Kang Yeong-jung) held ‘Nunnopi Education Award’ ceremony at Nunnopi Bramae Center in Seoul on Nov. 19 and presented the Award and 10 million won prize money to nine educators including Principal Kim Gi-chang, 59, of Seoul National School for the Blind. Marking the 13th year, the Nunnopi Education Award, sponsored by Education Ministry and the KTCU and issued by the Daekyo Culture Foundation, recognizes exemplary teachers. In addition to Kim Gi-chang, who with visual disabilities himself has planted the seeds of hope to the visually challenged students, other awardees include: Lee Sun-jae (Tanbang Elementary School in Daejon), Park Ik-soon (Inju Elementary School in South Chungcheong Province), and Lee Dong Su (Donam Elementary School in Jeju Island), teachers in elementary school category; Lim Dong-yul (Jeonnam Technical High School), Seo Young-sun (Jungsan High School), and Woo Hee-gwon (Hannae Women’s Middle School), teachers in the category of secondary school; Jeon Jong-sook (Hansung Kindergarten) in the kindergarten category; and Lim Eun-jin (teacher at Kumnamu Day Care Center) in the childcare category.
